The above compound has the chemical name bis(4-diethylamino-2-methyl-phenyl)- 4-diphenylaminophenyl methane. The charge transport layer while substantially nonabsorbing in the spectral region of intended use is "active" in that it allows injection of photogenerated holes from the photoconductive layer and allows these holes to be transported through the charge transport layer. This structure may be imaged in the conventional xerographic mode which usually includes charging, exposure to light and development.
