Abstract

Conformable, soft fuser rolls used in copying machines typically have one or more elastomeric coatings thereon. The present invention relates to an improved coating for such a conformable fuser roll. The improved coating is obtained by mixing the elastomer with a mixture of lead oxide and copper oxide. Suitable elastomers include silicone rubbers and fluorinated elastomers. The improved coating material of the invention when applied to a conformable fuser roll leads to improved wear resistance, improved heat transfer, and improved release properties.
