Abstract

Figure 1 is a partial schematic view showing an electrophotographic copier to whid has been added an attachment consisting of a sorter 2 and a non-sort output tray 3. The output tray 3 is provided with a false bottom segment 4 which can be raised by a machine-controlled actuator not shown. When the false bottom segment 4 is raised, as shown in Figure 2, it places pinch roll set 5 and a secondary deflector-6 in the path of copies emerging from the copier. In the position of the secondary deflector shown in Figure 2, the copies pass into the sorter unit 2. With the false bottom segment 4 raised and secondary deflector 6 also raised, as shown in Figure 3, the copies pass directly into overflow tray 7.
