Abstract

Tungsten corotron wires are coated with a cesium or barium salt, and the coated wire is then heated to convert the saits to their respective oxides, which have high secondary emission coefficients. The resultant coated wires show a strongly enhanced corona uniformity along the wire and virtual absence of glow spots as compared to conventional untreated wires.
