Abstract

This describes alternate means of compensating for lamp non-uniformities as well as the COS rolloff of the lens. Four photosensors in addition to the CCD are placed in a row parallel to the CCD. These additional sensors shall sense a reference document which shall be mounted on top of the flourescent light source so as to be between the lamp and the platen. It would be parallel to the object line and adjacent to it.

This describes alternate means of compensating for lamp non-uniformities as well as the COS rolloff of the lens.

Four photosensors in addition to the CCD are placed in a row parallel to the CCD. These additional sensors shall sense a reference document which shall be mounted on top of the flourescent light source so as to be between the lamp and the platen. It would be parallel to the object line and adjacent to it.

The outputs of these photosensors would be multiplexed to a sample and hold amplifier whidn, in turn, will drive the gate of the FET in the feedback loop of the AGC after passing through an integrator.
