Abstract

An elevator system is disclosed in the figure for a copier paper tray 1 that includes drive pulleys 2 connected to three drive screws 5,6 and 7. Two of the drive screws 5, 6 are located in front of the paper tray and one in the rear of the tray. As the pulleys rotate, tray 1 is raised or lowered depending on the direction of pulley rotation. This system requires a minimum of power for operation. The tray is supported for horizontal movement by conventional slide mechanisms and for vertical movement by extension members 8 and 9. These members are loosely mounted on nuts 50 to prevent binding between the nuts and the screws 5, 6 and 7.
