The replacement of a florescent lamp in the scanner of a copier/duplicator is frequently a difficult or time-consuming task because it must be accurately positioned with respect to the reflector and because it is difficult to reach and adjust.

These difficulties can be overcome through the use of a sliding module as shown in the above figure. Lamp 1 and its reflector (not shown) are attached to a sliding module 2 which is removed from the copier structure 3. Once removed, the lamp may easily be aligned with its reflector. The module 2 is then accurately reinserted with the aid of a plurality of precisely positioned dowels 4 which fit into matching holes in the module 2. A suitable bracket 5 holds the module in place and a cable 6 and connector 7 supply power to the lamp.
