Abstract

To stiffen a carriage 1 for movement during printing, support rail 2 is utilized. A roller 3 mounted on the carriage 1 runs on the top surface of rail 2, which provides additional support to carriage 1 as it moves on carriage rail 4. Preferably, rail 2 is made adjustable, for example, by using slots 5 which aid in alignment of support rail 2.
