Abstract

Wick 10 is placed over support 12 and in contact with roll 14. A portion of wick 10 is in oil reservoir 16. Lever 18 has one end portion thereof in engagement with wick 10. Lever 18 is mounted pivotably about a shaft with spring 20 arranged to rotate lever 18 away from wick 10. Rotation of cam 22 against lever 18 presses lever 18 against wick 10. This restricts the flow of oil onto roll 14. In this way, oil is transmitted to be applied on roll 14 at a specified and controlled flow rate via capillary action.
