Abstract

A portable copier uses a flat bed on which the original and copy sheets are placed face up and side-by-side. An optical sensor and an impact printer are connected together to span the bed so that as the former scans the original, the latter produces the copy. The sensor includes a row of optical fibres passing data to an associated row of printed heads.
