Abstract

The figure illustrates an exploded view of an arrangement for clamping a movable cable to a carriage element. A slotted, threaded stud 2 is welded to a carriage body 4 and extends through an aperture 6 therein. Plate 10 overlies body 4 and contains a groove 12 which accommodates cable 8. Stud 2 extends through plate 10. Nut 16 is then used to clamp plate 10 against cable 8 via the threaded end of stud 2 providing a controlled crushing action to the cable without abrading or twisting. Blade 14 prevents plate 10 from turning and also prevents the sides of stud 2 from collapsing inward.
