Abstract

A stacker provides two modes of copy sheets at a finishing tray, non-offset or offset sheets. The stacker operation is started in response to copy paper deactuating a registration switch at copy sheet registration rolls. In particular, if a non-offset stack is required, the deactivation of the registration switch by the copy paper leaving the registration rolls initiates a timer and the stacker operation begins after a predetermined time delay.

For offset sheets, the timing operation is identical except that upon deactivation of the registration switch by the copy paper, a second timer is activated. The second timer provides the timing sequence to operate an offset clutch controlling the movement of the stacker. This system also automatically provides system latitude when smaller paper sizes are used.
