Abstract

This disclosure relates to a fuser roll structure for use in xerography. The fuser roll 10 comprises an aluminum core 12 covered with an layer of silicone rubber 14. An end cap 16 is inserted in each end of the core 12. The end cap is rendered electrically conductive but relatively non-thermally conductive by use of a conductive filler 18 dispersed throughout the end cap which is fabricated from plastic. Transmet Corporation series 100 aluminum products can be employed as the filler material.

The end caps can be dual injection molded in which case only the portion of the end cap 19 indicated by reference character 20 in Figure 2 is conductive while the portion thereof indicated by reference character 22 comprises unfilled plastic.
