Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing electrode patterns on indium tin oxide coated substrates, which method involves vacuum depositing indium tin oxide on a substrate by resistance or sputtering techniques, resulting in the formation of an oxy%en deficient, poot;ly adhesive, opaque brown film, which film when heated to 300 C to about 400 C in air becomes transparent and conductive and has excellent adhesive properties. Prior to rendering the indium tin oxide film transparent it can be written on with a computer controlled laser which readily removes unwanted indium tin oxide resulting in an electrode pattern.
