Abstract

Disclosed is a developer composition comprised of resin particles, pigment par-ticles and carrier particles, wherein the resin particles are comprised of an uncrosslinked polymer incorporated into a polymer network highly crosslinked in the presence of the uncrossslinked polymer, the uncrosslinked polymer being of a different chemical composition than the crosslinked polymer, thereby resulting in the formation of a sponge-like gel, which composition is useful in a cold pressure fixing electrostatographic imaging device. Illustrative examples of useful uncross-linked polymers include poly (styrene-co-alkyl acrylate) polymers and poly (sty-rene-co-butadiene) polymers, while illustrative examples of crosslinked polymers include polyester resins, polymeric anhydrides and poly amides.
