Abstract

As a sheet of paper is being fed, the feeder software makes a determination, by checking for paper at wait station sensor, that a transparency is being fed (instead of a regular sheet of paper). If a transparency is detected, the software modifies the delivery information to send the transparency to the face up tray. This is done independently of the operator'programmed destination.

As a sheet of paper is being fed, the feeder software makes a determination, by checking for paper at wait station sensor, that a transparency is being fed (instead of a regular sheet of paper).

If a transparency is detected, the software modifies the delivery information to send the transparency to the face up tray. This is done independently of the operator'programmed destination.

A user could, knowing how many transparencies were to be made, load the desired number of transparencies on the top of a feeder, program desired quantity, add 1'1" for the transparency set, and the system would automatically lfpull" the trans- parencies out of the path, diverting them to the face up tray and then continue automatically to deliver output to the selected output (finisher or sorter).

In particular, upon determining that the sheet being fed is a transparency, separate transparency code is executed. First the copy information byte is modified to send the transparency automatically to the face up tray and if the machine is in a normal mode (in a purge mode an invalid job selection status code is displayed and the machine is cycled down delivering one transparency to the face up tray).
