Abstract

Restacking of document sheets on top of the stack of sheets 1 in the restacking tray 2 of a recirculating document handler is assisted by two air jets (3, 4) above and two air jets (5, 6) below the settling restacking sheet, as shown in the two drawings. The air jets are positioned and aimed downstream but angled as shown to help maintain the restacking sheet corrugated after release in a desired corruga-tion initially imparted by the sheet feed-in rollers 7 and associated baffles, and to provide a consistent and controlled pneumatically assisted flight path into the proper restacking position over the stack.
