Abstract

A storage feeder roll 1 is used as shown in the figure to retain single-sided copy sheets bearing fused images for subsequent feeding back to an imaging member (not shown) for imaging on the reverse side. The copy storage device 10 consists of a rolled web which accepts the copy sheets in a I-N (sequential) order. Copy sheets leaving the fuser 2 are fed into a two-positional feeder 3 consisting of a pair of feed rolls and a vacuum-assisted transport which delivers the copy sheets to the rolled web. To remove sheets in N-1 (reverse sequential) order, the two-positional feeder 3 is shifted to its alternate position, the direction of drive is reversed and sheets are delivered to the duplex (two-sided) copy transport mechanism 4.
