END SEAL FOR BLADE CLEANER Proposed Thomas J. Lynch Classification

U.S. C1. 355/15 Int. Cl. C03g 21/00

This disclosure relates to a blade cleaner for removing toner particles from a photoreceptor surface. More particularly, this disclosure relates to end seals for blade cleaners.

It is desirable to have a movable or removable end on the blade cleaner housing. As shown in the Figure such an end member 10 is illustrated.

In order to prevent the escape of toner particles from the cleaner housing a pair of seals (only one shown) are provided. Each seal comprises a dense, short nap fabric similar to that used for brush cleaners. In order to effect a tight seal between the end member 10 and a blade 14 the ends of the blade are cut on an angle as illustrated in order that the blade ends press into the seals when the end members are installed.
