Abstract

This disclosure relates to the crossmixing and dispensing of toner in an electrophotographic copier/printer. Development assembly 1 is located para1 lel to the axis of rotation of a photoreceptor drum or belt 2. The upper portion of development assembly 1 comprises a toner surnp 3 which contains toner 4. An upper magnetic brush roller 5 is located directly below toner sump 3 and immediately above a lower magnetic brush roller 6 which develops images on the immediately adjacent photoreceptor 2. The rollers and the photoreceptor rotate in the direction indicated by the arrows.

When the developer material moving with the surface of lower roller 6 reaches photoreceptor 2, the toner particles detach from the carrier particles and adhere to the charged areas of the photoreceptor 2.
