The use of a Transfer of Electro-Static Image (TESI) process in electrophotographic copiers is known to those skilled in the art. The use of a linear Light Emitting Diode(LED) writing head for marking the photoreceptor in an electrophotographic copier is also known to those skilled in the art. The present disclosure relates to a combination of both systems into one compact printer.

The use of a Transfer of Electro-Static Image (TESI) process in electrophotographic copiers is known to those skilled in the art. The use of a linear Light Emitting Diode(LED) writing head for marking the photoreceptor in an electrophotographic copier is also known to those skilled in the art. The present disclosure relates to a combination of both systems into one compact printer.

The electrophotographic printer 1 is cornprised of a semi-transparent photoreceptor belt 2 driven around rollers 3 and 4. The photoreceptor belt 2 is uniformly charged at charging station 5 and moves to exposing device 6. Exposure device 6 is comprised of a linear array of LED'S which selectively dissipate the charge on the photoreceptor belt 2. Dielectric paper supply 7 feeds roll dielectric paper 8 around rollers 9, 10 and 12 so that it is in contact with photoreceptor belt 2 as it moves into contact with exposure device 6.
