Abstract

This disclosure relates to a counterbalance assembly for use with the platen cover on an electrophotographic copier. Figure 1 (side view of platen cover assembly) shows the rear portion of platen cover 1 in the down position and cover 1' in the up position in phantom. Cover 1 is attached pivotally to hinge 2. Extending back from the cover I is the counterbalance link 3 shown in the cover down position (3' shows it in the cover up position in phantom). Counterbalance arm 4 is notched to accommodate rolling member 5 on counterbalance link 3 and is pivotally connected to counterbalance assembly 6.
