formed resulting ~n a dusting of toner powder which IS deposited on the photoconductive surface in the non-image regions. If thrs IS not cleaned during each machine cycle, a thick film of toner particles will build up which will contaminate the corona generator and the edge erase lamps in the printing machine. The rate of deposition is too low to provide adequate lubrication for the cleaner blade in this area. Hence, if the cleaner blade is extended to this area, blade tucking wili occur. To solve this problem, a set of auxiliary cleaner blades have been mounted in the developer housing. These blades act as scraper blades and, since they have a less stringent cleaning requirement, they may be configured to perform a general cleaning operation wrthout suffering from the tucking problem.
