Abstract

Many copiers have difficulty in copying blue colors from an original document because of the large amount of energy in the blue portion of the document illumination lamp spectrum. An inexpensive solution to this problem is to provide the copier with a blue-blocking overlay capability in the form of a sheet or pocketed document carrier. A yellow plastic sheet such as a Xerox 3112787 transparency IS recommended as an inexpensive material. When a document contains any blue information, the overlay is placed between the document and the platen. The document 1s thus illuminated with reduced energy In the blue part of the spectrum and the blue portions are better distinguished from the white background .
