Abstract

The Figure illustrates an irnagmg system which uses available room light to expose a document onto a photoreceptor surface As shown, a simplex document I0 is fed face down into a pair of continuous velocity transport rollers %2,%4 so as to move the document between a cylindrically concave platen 16 and the curved surface of photoreceptor drum 18 Room light gasses through transparent platen 16 in accordance with the details on the document creating a latent image of the document on the photoreceptor surface This image can be subsequently developed and transferred to an output copy sheet, Optimum resolution is obtained if the document IS maantained in contact with the photoreceptor surface but a small gap mag be tolerated and may be necessary to protect the photoreceptor surface For some applications, an
