In copiers using a document handler to convey original documents to the top surface of a document platen, some type of mechanism must be employed to re ster the document at a required exposure position. The Figure shows a si 8 e view of a copier formed by the side of the optics module 10 and the glass platen 12. A molded plastic ramp 14 serves to adjust the height of the platen by means of adjusting screw 16 and also serves as a guideway for registration fingers 18 to move from an out-of-registration position (dotted) to the solid line registration position. The registration finger butts against the edge of the platen and protrudes above the top surface. A document conveyed onto the top surface of the platen, from right to left, is thus stopped at the finger in the required registration position.
