Abstract

In an electrophotographic printing machine it is necessary to insure that the copy sheet is positioned in contact with the photoconductive surface at the transfer station to transfer the toner powder image from the photoconductive surface to the sheet. A corona generating device is positioned at the transfer station to spray ions onto the backside of the copy sheet so as to attract the toner powder image thereto. A pivotably mounted baffle plate has rollers mounted on the free end thereof which engage the photoconductive surface to space the free edge of the baffle a precise distance from the photoconductive surface. The free edge of the baffle guides the copy sheet onto the photoconductive surface in registration with the toner powder image developed thereon. This enables the corona generator to spray ions onto the backside of the sheet transferring the toner powder image.
