Abstract

A stack of individual metering blades are supported adjacent a metering roll of a heat and pressure fuser apparatus. A retractable blade holder structure is adapted to be moved in a direction away from the metering roll and then in the reverse direction toward the metering roll. As the blade holder is moved toward the metering roll it removes the top blade from the stack of blades and moves it to a position where an edge of the blade engages the roll surface.
