Abstract

An ionographic printhead is positioned after a light lens exposure station in a xerographic imaging apparatus. The printhead is utilized to overwrite uniformly charged areas on the photoreceptor to thereby modulate these areas to produce some sense of multilevel halftone like development and improve the tone reproduction curve for continuous tone input.
