Abstract

In order to seal the contents of the output from an unattended telecopier from view except for the address, without requiring a duplex system, a second, opaque web, with self-adhesive along at least the edges of the web is fed as a continuous overlay onto the regular output paper web. The overlay web would contain apertures at regular sheet-spaced intervals for the addresses on the regular web to show through.

There, low cost security cover sheets with apertures for address-only show-through could be loaded in one supply tray. Upon selection by the operator, the security cover sheet is fed interleaved with the conventional copy sheets on which the copy material is printed. The security cover sheet would form the edge-bound cover sheet of an automatically bound set of copy sheets so that the copy output would automatically have an attached, masking cover sheet. While this would not prevent deliberate removal of the copy output and opening the cover sheet to read the contents, it would prevent casual exposure and viewing of the contents of the copy output. And, the cover sheet could be preprinted with a security notice, or pri...
