Abstract

The Figure illustrates a conveyor for particulate material such as electrostatographic toner or developer which can be used to convey material upwardly in a confined space. The conveyor comprises a belt 10 which may be straight having pulley teeth on one side but on the other side has a plurality of paddles 12 transported in an endless path by drive roll 14 around idler rolls 16 from a particulate material entry port 20 to an elevated location where exit ports 24 are present to permit the particulate material to fall by gravity through entry slot 28 in a removable sump 26. The paddles on the belt transport the particulate material from the entry slot 20 to the exit ports 24 sequentially depositing the particulate material through exit ports 24 from left to right as the volume in the collection sump 26 under successive exit ports 24 becomes filled with particulate material.
