Disclosed is a conductive substrate suitable for electrophotographic imaging and printing applications. The substrate comprises an interpenetrating polymer network comprising an electronically conductive polypyrrole in a host polymer, such as poly(vinyl chloride).

The host polymer, selected for its superior mechanical properties, such as poly(vinyl chloride), polyvinyl fluoride, and the like, is swelled by the pyrrole contained in a suitable solvent, such as a halogenated solvent, enabling the pyrrole to diffuse into void regions in the host polymer.
