Abstract

Registration edges in paper handling pathways help to insure the proper alignment and placement of original images when printed on copy sheets. High volume copy sheet paper throughput rates can lead to abrasive wear of conventional fixed registration edge materials. An improved registration edge is achieved by incorporating recessed multiple roller wheels into the edge construction. The modified edge eliminates static friction and therefore greatly reduces wear and part failures, paper dust and paper jams. This interactive registration edge efficiently guides as well as conveys the copy sheets to their destination.
