A method of calibrating individual elements of an ionographic image bar and

related devices that provides corrections allowing a uniform printout from the entire array is disclosed.

The method is comprised of the steps: (1) printing a pattern on a copy sheet where the measured reflectivity decreases stepwise in the process direction;
(2) scanning the print density from each imaging elements; and (3)

generating and storing appropriate corrections to be applied to the voltage supplied to each of the imaging elements relative to a calibrated reference standard. The method when used in conjunction with color ionographic imaging affords enhanced image quality because of improved fidelity of developed image density and improved uniformity of imaging element output.
