Abstract

Two interactive security features for use in electrophotographic printing and copying machines are disclosed. The fist security feature provides for a cover screen or visual shield for copy/print output tray($ to protect against accidental or intentional viewing of copies of confidential information. The second security feature provides for an operator alarm which visually andlor audibly alerts the user that originals or copies of sensitive or confidential documents have been left behind on the optical/scanner platter, document handler, or in the output tray(s). The security features are controlled and interact by on board logic circuits and may be activated manually by placing the security output tray into a "conceal" position.
