Abstract

A black plastic "drop cloth" is provided with appropriate molded-in fastening magnets or snaps, such that when the machine covers of a copier or printer are opened for servicing, this cloth can be manually fastened up by the Tech Rep to provide a light shield to cover the photoreceptor. The drop cloth would cover areas that would otherwise be exposed to external light with the machine covers opened. The use of the drop cloth allows the Tech Rep to run the machine with the covers open without the loss of toner caused by running the machine without a light shield. Arm holes may be provided through this cloth for the Tech Rep to access machine repair points.
