A method for improving Viton* to silicone adhesion in Viton* fuser rolls of electrophotographic printing and copying machines is disclosed. The method comprises treating a silicone substrate roll with a layer of an amino silane followed by corona etchin and then coating with a layer of an adhesive vinyl

is applied. The method reduces the incidence of delamination and increases Viton* fuser roll life. A particularly preferred method of improving adhesion comprises corona etching in a dry atmosphere before applying the Viton* overcoat.
