Abstract

A portable cleanroom apparatus comprising a housing insufficient to enclose an adult human being, a means to insert or remove work pieces from the housing, an absolute filtration means between the interior of the housing and the exterior of the housing, a means to introduce air through the absolute filters at a rate sufficient to maintain positive pressure within the interior of the housing and means to power the means to introduce the air is disclosed.

The apparatus may be either manual, semiautomatic or fully automated piece part carrier which incorporates a "laminar flow clean envelope" on board, thereby totally protecting the part and eliminating the need for full laminar air flow of a room where work is applied.
