System for automatic of regression test selection based on known code path analysis

Automatic test case selection for rapid regression testing is accomplished by computing and archiving initial code paths produced from execution of a set test case. Any subsequent code change will generate a new code path sequence. A look-up and correlation of archived code path sequences based on particular test cases to new generated code paths can then determine common function intersection and allow for the automatic selection of those test cases to be executed during regression. This method ensures complete code test coverage with minimal time spent.
