Abstract

Proposed is a Single Pass Highlight Color System (SPHC) for light lens copiers. Single pass development in one or more color modes can be achieved by using a developer housing that has an attribute of selectable development as well as that of being a non-scavenging system. With selectable development, the developer housing must be capable of being selected, in both space and time, to develop different colors in accordance with different image areas. A non-scavenging system, on the other hand, is a system that will not disturb a toned or electrical image of another color.

Non-scavenging systems are implemented through the use of a "Donor Roll" developer housing, and more specifically with a %cavengeless" developer housing of either a hybrid, two component configuration or a single component, loaded configuration. Selectable development is carried out by applying a selectable bias to the donor roll.
