Abstract

A special formulation paint is proposed for matching a smooth machine part finish to the surface coating of a molded machine part. The composition is a water based paint containing 50 micron aggregate beads. The paint is selected for its environmental and health characteristics. The application involves a two-coat process that entails matching the paint and the amount of millage therein so that a previously smooth surface will appear to match a molded surface both in color and texture.
