It is known to provide a single color developer replacement unit on a mobile cart which docks with the copier or printer, as disclosed in Xerox Corporation
U.S. 5,144,369, issued September 11,1992 to L.R. Benedict, et al.

The concept here is to provide such a cart with a "carousel" of plural such developer units, to provide a customer with a selection of plural colors to choose from on a single cart. Such carousels are known as built-in or stand- alone developer replacement devices in certain xerographic highlight color or full color capability copiers or printers. In the system suggested here, the developer housings would be mounted in a "ferris wheel" fashion in the carousel unit, except that instead of moving in a circular pattern, the developer units would be suspended on a vertically elongated race track loop path configuration for compactness. The entire color carousel cart unit would then be wheeled up to the processor and the interchange of the developer units accomplished by rotating the color carousel unit to a blank (empty) developer receiving position, removing the existing developer unit from the processor into that blank position on the carou...
