Abstract

Proposed is a system of vacuum manifolds which protect optical erase and imaging elements in a single or multipass Recharge Exposure and Development (REaD) engine from development housing effluence. The manifolds are placed in the proximity of a toned photoreceptor surface. They are set to a level that does not affect the image on the photoreceptor surface. Instead, they are set so as to effectively remove machine dirt (toner residues) from the imaging and erase elements.
