Abstract

Proposed is a design for a toner "tote bin" which can be inflated for use and deflated for storage. The advantages over the standard rigid tote bin are lower cost and lower storage space requirements. Both advantages allow a set of totes to be dedicated to one type of toner, eliminating the need for tote cleaning.

The proposed tote is an inflatable rubberized container, sized and shaped to approximate the configuration of an existing rigid tote. It possesses all of the functions and attributes found in metal totes; top opening for fill, valve at the bottom to drain, casters for transport, and optimally lined with a membrane and means for shaking or fluidizing the toner contained therein. The rubberized container is reinforced with polymer fiber or metal fabric to resist puncture. It is constructed so as to be collapsible when the tote is empty for ease of storage and minimization of storage space.
