SPLIT GRIPPER BAR TRACKS (Cont'd)

A splitlmultisection track for guiding a belt including a recirculating gripper bar is disclosed. The disclosed system allows the track, which is thin and relatively flexible, to be flexibly removed despite the presence of other components which might otherwise prevent its removal.

Figure 1 shows track 1 with multiple anchoring holes 3.A split 7 in the track is adjacent to an anchoring position 5. Split end 9 includes tabbed hole member 5A, while split end 11 includes tabbed hole member 5B. When a fastener (not shown) is removed from the overlapping holes 5A and 5B in tabs 9 and 11, respectively, track 1 can be more easily removed from a printing machine. When a fastener is in place in overlapping holes 5A and 5B, track 1 is prepared for guiding an endless belt (not shown). The alignment of track 1 at the split is maintained by each tab on each split.
