Abstract

Proposed is a method of making customized labels that can be fixed to the spine of a bound book created by a xerographic duplicator. The method utilizes cover stock having a blank peel-off label and a master label sheet. The cover stock is arranged in a stack of copy sheets so that the peel-off label is located on the inside surface of the back cover. The last sheet in a set of documents to be copied is the master label sheet having title information printed thereon. As soon as the documents are reproduced and bound, the label is removed and placed on the spine for easy identification. Customized labels generated by the proposed method offer the advantages of being made at the same time as the book, and of being part of the book.
