Abstract

A single vertically moving top vacuum corrugation feed head assembly is shown in the figure that is adapted to service a plurality of separate feed trays in a copiedprinter. As shown in the figure, the feed head moves vertically while all the feed trays (with the exception of the lowest one which is the only tray capable of holding 'A3' paper) shift horizontally. The vertically moving feed head also contains a deflector baffle assembly which directs the paper into a vertical export.

As shown in the figure, the feed head moves vertically while all the feed trays (with the exception of the lowest one which is the only tray capable of holding 'A3' paper) shift horizontally. The vertically moving feed head also contains a deflector baffle assembly which directs the paper into a vertical export.

The feed assembly moves up and down with a floating motor that climbs up and down on a rack. Another motor drives the take-away roll and clutch drive for the vacuum belt assembly. A third motor drives an eccentric arm and racWgear assembly that moves the trays horizontally. The eccentric arm drive provides for controlled acceleration and deceleration of the trays as they are extended or retracted. The vertically moving assembly is mounted on and guided by a twin track extrusion and four roller assemblies.
