Abstract

An added feature for telecopiers would be to provide a transmittal receipt package. Existing telecopiers can record the time and date of the data transmissions, the remote station's I.D., and the remote station telephone number, and print a transmission confirmation sheet with that information. What is missing is a customer receipt. This could be accomplished by electonically obtaining return signal information from the remote station by NSF functions, or by a software kit or retrofit which would cause printing of the "Machine I.D. number" on each of the sheets as the set is being transmitted and the printing of the following information on an additional "receipt sheet" at the & of the run, automatically generated as a last, added, send sheet:
