Abstract

Proposed is an extruded clipkover for holding several flanged toner bottles simultaneously. Referring to Figure 1, clipkover 12 holds a plurality of bottles 20 filled with toner. The clipkover 12 is installed on bottles 20 at the bottle manufacturing site. The clipkover 12 provides stackability in shipping, elimination of packaging materials, and an ability to auto-feed bottles 20 into a filling line. As illustrated? the clipkover 12 in Figure 2, is designed to slide over a flange 22 on bottle 20 shown in Figure 3.

Currently, filled toner bottles are nested in a plastic bag and corrugated carton. They can be eliminated. The proposed clipkover is designed to allow stacking of loaded assemblies onto a shipping pallet. Corrugated trays and stretch film may secure the loaded assemblies to the pallet.

A Stripping machine located on a filling line removes the clipkover and places the bottles in a puck thereby relieving an operator of reaching deep into a carton to remove a new toner bottle. The tray and pallet are then used to ship a finished product, leaving the stretch film for disposal. The cl...
