Abstract

Disclosed is a nickel fitration/reclaim system. Scorotron grids can be recycled if the old nickel plating is stripped and the scorotron replated. Here it is proposed to use high strength permanent magnets to attract and capture nickel flakes from the scorotron grid stripping bath. An additional in-line magnetic fiter can assist bag and/or cartridge fiters in separating the remaining nickel from paper and fiber debris. The captured nickel can then be recycled.
